Corralejo in brief
Corralejo is a harbour town on Fuerteventura's north-east coast. Visitors come for two reasons. One is the dune park next to the town. The other is the harbour, where ferries leave for Isla de Lobos and for Playa Blanca on Lanzarote. From Puerto del Rosario it is a day trip by bus or car.
This is an independent guide, not run by the town, the island council or any operator. Prices are as published in 2026 and can change.

Corralejo dunes: the natural park
A dune area in the north and a volcanic sector in the south.
The park is a coastal strip in the north-east. The northern part is dune country, the southern part is volcanic ground. The island tourism service also mentions bathing without clothes in the dune park. That describes how people use it. It is not a blanket permission, so follow the signs and be considerate.
Park rules
Take your rubbish away. Do not feed or disturb animals. Do not take plants or stones, and do not build stone towers. Stay on the marked paths and in the permitted areas, and keep noise down.

Parking and access
The visitor information asks you to leave your vehicle at a pull-off and walk into the park. Do not assume you can drive or park on the sand. Parking rules along the road can change, so follow the signs.
Entry and booking
The official visitor information gives no entry fee and no general online booking for the park. That is not a promise of access on every day, so check the signs and any notices on arrival.

The harbour and the ferries
Two island destinations leave from the same town.
Isla de Lobos
One operator runs boats from the Corralejo harbour in about 20 minutes. A standard return ticket costs β¬17 for adults and β¬11 for children aged 4 to 11, and ages 0 to 3 are free (2026). You also need a permit for the island. The operator offers an optional processing service for β¬2 and says applying yourself is free.
Isla de Lobos guide βLanzarote
Ferries cross to Playa Blanca on Lanzarote in about 25 to 35 minutes, depending on the company. Fred. Olsen lists up to 12 departures a day, BaleΓ ria up to 7 on weekdays. Fares differ by company, date and passenger type.
Lanzarote ferry guide βGetting to Corralejo
By bus from the capital, or by car.
| Route | Option | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Puerto del Rosario to Corralejo | Bus line 6 | Published fare β¬3.40 each way; harbour departures are marked separately in the timetable |
| Airport to Corralejo | Airport bus to Puerto del Rosario, then line 6 | No direct regular airport bus to Corralejo is listed |
| Airport to Corralejo | Taxi or hire car | A hotel in the centre lists about 40 km from the airport |
Check the current timetable on the day, because the line has variants. If you rent a car, check that the rental terms allow ferry use if you plan to cross to Lanzarote.
Planning a day trip from the capital
A simple order that avoids rushing.
Decide the main aim first
Corralejo can fill a day on its own with the dunes and the harbour. Isla de Lobos needs a permit and a ferry slot, and Lanzarote needs a return crossing. Combining two of these in one day is tight. Pick one, and keep the other for another day.
Check the bus both ways
Line 6 has regular and harbour variants, so read the timetable for the trip out and the trip back. Cash is paid to the driver on TIADHE buses, the driver cannot take notes over β¬50, and a note may be at most five times the fare. Keep your receipt until the end of the journey.
Buses from the airport βLook at the weather on the day
Check the current warnings and forecast before a boat trip. Monthly averages are on the weather page.
Staying in Corralejo
One example, not a ranking.
Hotels in the centre suit visitors who want to walk to the harbour. The H10 Ocean Dunas lists a position in the centre, 50 m from the beach and 1.5 km from the harbour. It is marketed to adults only, with a recommended age of 18 and over, so it is not a family hotel. For other areas, see the where to stay page. If you only want a day by the dunes, stay in the capital and use the bus.
