The airport and the capital
Fuerteventura Airport stands in El Matorral. Aena, the airport operator, gives the distance to Puerto del Rosario as 5 km, so the capital is the closest town to the terminal. Other resorts are further out. A hotel in Caleta de Fuste states 7 km to the airport, and a hotel in the centre of Corralejo states 40 km. These are hotel figures, not measured routes, so treat them as a guide.
This site is an independent guide and has no link to Aena, the bus operator or any taxi firm. Fares and times below are as published in 2026 and can change. Check the current timetable before you travel.

Buses from the airport
The island bus operator is TIADHE. Aena lists three lines with an airport stop.
Line 3: Puerto del Rosario, Caleta de Fuste, Las Salinas
The line 3 timetable in use since 8 June 2026 has regular and express runs, and separate tables for Sundays and holidays. Do not count on a fixed service every few minutes. Read the table for your day and your direction.
Line 10: Puerto del Rosario to Morro Jable
This line runs south from the capital and has an airport link. Use it if your hotel is in the south of the island, and check the timetable for the airport stop.
Line 16: Puerto del Rosario to Gran Tarajal
The third airport line also starts in the capital and runs south. Again, look up the airport stop in the current table.
Paying on the bus
The operator describes cash payment to the driver. Keep your receipt until the end of the journey. The driver accepts notes of no more than five times the fare, and notes above โฌ50 are not accepted. Carry coins and small notes.
| Route | Line | Published fare, 2026 |

| Puerto del Rosario to Corralejo | 6 | โฌ3.40 per direction |

The table shows the fares between the town centres. For the airport leg itself, read the operator's current table.

Late arrivals, taxis and hire cars
What to plan for if you land in the evening.
The last buses on line 3
From Monday to Saturday the last departures with an airport stop leave Puerto del Rosario at 23:00 and Las Salinas at 23:15. On Sundays and holidays they leave Puerto del Rosario at 23:00 and Las Salinas at 22:00. These are departure times at the two ends of the line, not at the airport. After a late flight, have a taxi as a second option.
Taxis
Aena advises using only the signed taxi rank at the terminal and asking for a receipt. For prices, Aena refers to the PuertoTaxi fare calculator. Ask the driver for the likely fare before you set off.
Hire cars
One large rental firm states a minimum age of 21, a licence held for at least 2 years, unlimited kilometres, insurance without excess for the Canary Islands, and a printed valid contract that must stay in the car. Those are one company's terms. Read your own contract.
Ferry to Lanzarote โCars on ferries
A ferry line may sell space for vehicles, but that does not mean the rental company allows the car to leave the island. Ask the rental firm before you book a crossing.
From the airport to the places in this guide
Four common onward trips.
Puerto del Rosario
The shortest transfer, about 5 km. The capital has the port, the town sculptures and the cruise terminal, and it is the hub for onward buses.
Cruise port โCaleta de Fuste
Take line 3, which passes the airport on its way to Las Salinas, or a taxi. The resort has a sheltered beach behind the harbour wall.
Caleta de Fuste guide โCorralejo
Plan to change in Puerto del Rosario: an airport line to the capital, then line 6 to Corralejo at โฌ3.40 per direction. Allow extra time for the connection. The harbour for the Lobos and Lanzarote boats is in Corralejo.
Corralejo guide โWhere to sleep first
If you arrive late or leave early, a base near the airport saves a long transfer. The accommodation page compares the capital, Corralejo and Caleta de Fuste.
